Vocational Skills as an escape route: Steps on Baking of Meat Pie




On this edition of vocational skills as an escape route, we will be doing some practically work. Please join Yetunde Owolabi (C.E.O. Yemat International Catering Institute) as she takes us through the world of catering with particular attention on meat pie baking.
First, here are all the required ingredients for baking of meat pie:
Pastry                                                                                        Sauce
  • Flour                                                                                      Mince meat
  • Butter                                                                                   Groundnut oil
  • Milk                                                                                       Salt
  • Egg                                                                                         Seasonings (Curry, Thyme, Maggi & Onion)
  • Salt                                                                                         Pimento
  • Nut-Meg                                                                             Irish Potatoes
  • Water                                                                                   Corn Flour
StepS for making your Pastry
  1. Get a cup of flour in a bowl,
  2. Add a sachet of Butter (big),
  3. Add medium size powered milk,
  4. 2  Eggs (raw),
  5. Pinch of salt
  6. And your net-meg plus right quantity of water finally then mix properly.
Steps for making your sauce
  1. Put your Groundnut oil (5cl) in the fire,
  2. Add your Mince meat (10kg),
  3. Add your Irish potatoes
  4. Add half level full spoon of salt,
  5.  Add your seasonings
  6. Finally your pimento
  7. Add your corn flour and allow to steam for 5mins before putting it down
Final Step
  1. After getting your pastry and sauce ready
  2. Then you get your rolling pin to mesh the pastry on clean tray
  3. And the cut the pastry with your meat pie cutter.
  4. Afterwards add the sauce into the pastry that has been cut into various sizes and close them up.
  5. Finally, place them on an oven tray
  6. And put in an oven for 15 minutes only.
