VOCATIONAL SKILLS: HOW TO MAKE LIQUID SOAP

 


Items needed for 40 liters of liquid soap:

Measuring bowl, Cans, Gloves, Spoon, Bottles, Water

Chemicals you will need for 40 liters of liquid soap:

Ø  6-16 teaspoons – Sodium Laurate Sulphate (SLS);

Ø  480 g. – C.M.C (Carboxy methyl cellulos)/ Antisol/ Nitrosol;

Ø  10 – 20 teaspoons of Texapon

Ø  2 litres of Sulphonic Acid

Ø  165 g. – Caustic Soda

Ø  35 l. – water;

Ø  245 g. – Soda Ash –

Ø  6-16 teaspoons – Formaline (may not use)

Ø  10-20 teaspoons – Sodium Tripoyphosphate (S.T.P.P)

Ø  1/2 Laurel Rice

Ø  Coloring

Ø  Perfume (fragrance) if you desire

USES OF CHEMICALS USED IN LIQUID SODA MAKING:

v  Texapon: A Foaming Agent

v  STPP: It is a Cleanliness and Thickness AgentCaustic Soda: This is a Cleaning Agent. The smallest quantity to you can buy is ¼ . So divide that into four portions , use one portion and keep the rest . too much of caustic soda peels the hand

v  Laurel Rice is a foaming agent. ½ quantity is enough, just add it to your sulphonic acid

v  Natrosol : A Cleaning and Thickness Agent

v  Soda ash: A Cleaning Agent

v  Sulphonic Acid: A Foaming Agent

v  Formalin: A Preservative Agent. Formalin is a harmful chemical that causes cancer if abused. So use with care, very small quantity doesn’t harm. A cap of Eva table water will do or better still you can use Citric Acid, Benzoic Acid and Sodium





Steps on how to make liquid soap

1.      Mix small quantity of caustic soda in a bowl with 2 liters of water. Aim is to soften the caustic soda. Leave for one hour or for overnight.

2.      Mix the Soda ash with 2 liters of water in a different bowl. Aim is to soften the soda ash. Leave for one hour or for overnight.

3.      Soften the STPP by mixing with 1.25 liters of water in a third bowl.

4.      Soak the Laurel Rice/Rice in another bowl. You should have a total of four bowls.

5.      In a different bucket, add sulphonic acid followed by texapon. Mix the Sulphonic acid and the Texapon together until they are well dissolved.

6.      You should now have 5 mixtures all in different bowls, bucket. Leave them for 30 minutes so the chemicals dissolve properly.

7.      To make our liquid soap, now take a big bucket that can contain 30 litres of water and fill it half of it with clean water

8.      Gradually add the Natrozol into the 15 litres of water in the 30 litres bucket. Gently stir

9.      As you stir, gradually pour the contents of each small bowls into the big bucket containing Natrozol. Ensure you pour in contents o How to make liquid soap. That is bowl A before bowl B then bowl C before bowl D.

10.   Never stop stirring.

11.   Now pour the content of our first bucket into the big 30 litres bucket. Keep on stirring properly.

12.   Next is to add a little quantity of Formalin for preservative. Remember – it is optional, this chemical is dangerous. HANDLE WITH EXTREME CARE IF YOU INSIST ON USING IT.

13.   Now add colour to our liquid soap mixture, stir, add some perfume. Stir.

14.   There you have it! Your own liquid soap, proudly made by you.f the bowls in the order we mixed them. That is bowl A before bowl B then bowl C before bowl D.

15.   Never stop stirring.

16.   Now pour the content of our first bucket into the big 30 litres bucket. Keep on stirring properly.

17.   Next is to add a little quantity of Formalin for preservative. Remember – it is optional, this chemical is dangerous. HANDLE WITH EXTREME CARE IF YOU INSIST ON USING IT.

18.   Now add colour to our liquid soap mixture, stir, add some perfume. Stir.

There you have it! Your own liquid soap, proudly made by you.

The school was established on the 3rd of February, 1986 and was then situated at 4, Church Street, Mushin, Lagos.  The proprietor of the school is Pastor Jacob Idowu Oku-Pevi and the proprietress is Mrs. Christiana Oluyemisi Oku-Pevi.

 The school is located in a conducive, serene and unpolluted learning environment at 45, Cardoso Street, Near LUTH Gate, Mushin, Lagos. Today, the School now has a Crèche, Play-Group, Reception, Nursery and Primary sections and was approved in 1991 by the Lagos State Ministry of Education and the Co-operate Affairs Commission (C.A.C).

Prince Heirs’ College, an off-shoot of “A Prince with God Nursery and Primary school” is a Comprehensive, Co-educational, State and Federal Government approved private institution; the school was born out of the primary school, hence the similarity of names. PHC started 11 years after the primary school as a result of parents’ encouragements and other challenges.

The school’s  headquarters is situated at 153, Itire Road, Mushin, Lagos and her annex is situated at 45, Cardoso Street Near LUTH Gate, Mushin - Lagos. The proprietor of the school is Pastor Idowu Jacob Oku-Pevi, the current principal is Mrs. C. O. Oku-Pevi and the Vice Principal of the head quarters is Mr. O. Odufuwa while the annex Vice Principal is Mr. V. S. Abiodun.

This prestigious citadel of learning was established on the 21st of September, 1997. It took off at 57, Cardoso Street, Mushin – Lagos, the previous location of the primary school where rooms were created by demarcating a section of the building, in order to allow for the operation of the secondary school. The pioneer students were taught up to 15 subjects.

Prince Heirs’ College is a Godly Christian school with the aim of nurturing young people to become leaders of Godly character. Little wonder most parents see the school as a rehabilitation centre for students with deviant characters and undoubtedly, there are several testimonies on how the school is continuously transforming students addicted to different vices. Equally, the philosophy of the school is to form a whole man; students who are not only academically competent but also groomed in virtues.

Oprah Winfrey, born January 29, 1954 is an American Media Proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show” which was the highest-rated programme of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986-2011. Dubbed the “Queen of All Media”, she has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history.


And she is now North America’s first and only multi-millionaire black. Several assessments regard her as the most influential woman in the world.

Oprah was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, United State of America to an unmarried teenage mother. She later said that her conception was due to a single sexual encounter and the couple broke up not long after. Born to Vernita Lee and Vernon Winfrey, she was born into poverty in rural Mississippi and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighbourhood. She stated she was molested during her childhood and early teens and became pregnant at 14, her son died in infancy. Her first national broadcast was in 1986.


Oprah has co-authored five books and published a magazine, O, the Oprah Magazine from 2004-2008, she also created the online platform oprah.com website averaging 70million page views and six million users per month and receives approximately 20, 000 e-mails each week. She negotiated ownership rights to the television programme and started her own production company. At the age 41, Winfrey had a net worth of $340 million and replaces Bill Cosby as the only African American on the Forbes 400 with a net worth of $800 million.
